Solihull Council has joined forces with energy providers to introduce a new initiative aimed at assisting residents in Olton and Lyndon. Under the ECO4 scheme, eligible households can access complimentary energy efficiency upgrades to their homes.
This collaboration aims to combat fuel poverty and enhance energy efficiency within the community. Qualifying residents can benefit from various energy-saving enhancements, including loft and wall insulation, along with upgraded heating systems tailored to individual needs.
By improving home energy efficiency, residents stand to gain lower energy bills, reduced carbon emissions, increased comfort, better indoor air quality, and a decreased risk of cold-related health issues.
Households meeting specific criteria, such as residing in properties with low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings of E, F, or G, and meeting income thresholds or having vulnerable members, are eligible for these upgrades dependant upon customer eligibility and property assessmentat at no extra cost. Importantly, participation in the scheme is not limited to specific customers and is open to all Solihull residents, with a focus on those in Olton and Lyndon wards.
To learn more and apply for the scheme, interested residents can complete the ECO4 application process.
